Mr. Charles William "Chuck" Lawrence

October 13, 1973 — December 24, 2018

On Monday, December 24, Charles “Chuck” William Lawrence, dedicated husband and father, passed away at his home in Monroe, Georgia at the age of 45. Chuck shared a wedding with Alice Gibson Palmer Lawrence on October 2, 2004 at Pretty Place Chapel. The arrival of their only child, Palmer Culberson Lawrence, came on December 11, 2008. He is survived by Alice, his son Palmer, his parents Phyllis & Bobby Coker, his stepmother Vickie Lawrence, his sister Chase Lawrence Hager (Jessan), brother Zachary Coker (Sarah) and 4 nieces and nephews. His father Ronnie P. Lawrence preceded him in death. He acquired a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Winthrop University in 1995 and was a photographer until joining his father’s business. As owner of Southeast Wholesale Door he was tirelessly committed to supporting the livelihoods of his many employees. Chuck was a tremendously loyal family man and friend with a huge heart and unmatched sense of humor. He shared his abundance of gifts for cooking, photography and unique outside-the-box problem solving for any and all with whom he had acquaintance. When he wasn’t engaging with his huge network of people, he was happiest in the outdoors, fishing, camping, bird hunting and working on his and Alice’s cabin in Rosman, North Carolina. Chuck exhibited an unwavering spirit and love of life that was infectious and showed us all the greatest potential of any moment. He is forever an inspiration to us all. A celebration of his life will be held December 30, 2018 at the Wayfarer Music Hall in Monroe, GA at 1 pm, located at 112 North Broad Street (front entrance) or 123 North Lumpkin Street (back street entrance). A reception will be available following the memorial in the same location. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Pee Dee Land Trust at P.O. Box 2134 Florence SC 29503, Grace Kitchen c/o St. John Methodist Church 104 Newberry St NW Aiken, SC 29801. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of arrangements.
