Mrs. Winifred Daniel Standard

Mrs. Winifred Daniel Standard, age 91, of Thomaston, died Friday, February 1, 2019, at Riverside Health and Rehab. Funeral services for Mrs. Standard will be held Monday, February 4, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Elder Edward McIntyre and Elder Lee Price will officiate, and interment will follow in the Flint River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mrs. Standard was born in Upson County on January 3, 1928, to the late Augustus Daniel and Lucy Mae Daniel. She was a 1945 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and was retired from Uniroyal Goodrich. Mrs. Standard was a member of Flint River Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter E. Standard, Jr.; a son, Donald Standard; two grandsons: Melvin Stanley Kennedy, Jr. and Bobby Gene Guy, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Teresa Dawn Hilley. Survivors include four daughters: Teresa (Greg) Dowdy of Thomaston; Mary Ann (Bobby) Guy of Concord; Betty (Larry) Wheeler of Thomaston; and Elaine (Larry) Hilley of Thomaston; a daughter-in-law, Rita Standard of Zebulon; 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several great great grandchildren.
