Alver Franklin Fowler

Alver Franklin Fowler went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 28th, 2010 at the Riverside Nursing Home in Thomaston, GA. Alver was 86 years old and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He was born on November 25, 1923 in Molena, GA to Edgar and Nellie Fowler along with five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his brother Jesse and sister Sallie Ruther Alexander, both of Thomaston. Alver was a devoted husband for 55 years to his wife, Clara, who preceded him in death in 2000. He has been an active member of East Thomaston Baptist Church since 1953 and served as a Deacon and Sunday School secretary. He worked for 47 1/2 years at the Thomaston Mills Bleachery Department. He was a very loving uncle, friend and mentor to his extended family and all those who knew him as 'Uncle Alva'. He will always be in the hearts of his family and friends.
