Angelo Mameli

Mr. Mameli was a native of Brooklyn, NY, born to Italian immigrants Luigi and Lina Mameli. He was a 1942 graduate of Manual Training High School in New York. Mr. Mameli continued his education after high school and in January of 1944 was graduated from the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy, Long Island University. He was employed by Schwarz Laboratories, then Piels Brewery until 1952, when he entered the retail pharmacy industry. He retired in 1987. Mr. Mameli married Rita Sigberman on October 6th, 1951. They moved to Thomaston in 1994. Mr. Mameli was of the Catholic faith. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mameli is survived by three sons, Walter (Debbie) Mameli of Smithtown, NY, Louis (Laurie) Mameli of Thomaston and Peter (Mary) Mameli of New York City, NY; and four grandchildren, Kristin Mameli of New York City, NY, and Andy Mameli, Tyler Mameli and Claire Mameli, all of Thomaston.
