Mrs. Antoinette Hardage 'Toni' Greene died peacefully at West Village Retirement Center in Thomaston on Tuesday, September 25th, 2012. Toni was born in Thomaston, GA., on Easter Sunday, March 23rd, 1913 to Ruth Antoinette Watson Hardage and Oscar Andrew Hardage. She was a member of Thomaston First Baptist Church since the age of eleven and was very active in all phases of church activities. She also started the Dial-A-Prayer ministry in 1981. Toni was the oldest member of the Thomaston Garden Club and started the originial Thomaston China Painting Club. She also managed Greene Acres Bar Ranch for ten years after Harvey's death. She loved china painting, writing poetry and her book called 'My Family'. She was an active member of the community when her husband Harvey served as mayor for two terms, from 1958 to 1963. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Raleigh Greene, sister Christine Moore, brothers William and Alfred Hardage, and her son Harold 'Bruce' Greene. She is survived by her sons, Fredric Greene (Betty Joe) and Carey Greene, and daughter, Judy Greene; grandchildren, Mike Greene (Peggy), Beverly Greene Layson (Terry), Jody Greene Defore (Jeff), Harvey Greene (Christy), Leisa Greene Stewart (Robert), Paula Greene Harden (David), Cathy Greene Ashberry, Stephen Cox and Donna McConnell (Dan); daughter-in-law, Mary 'Frances' Greene; and sister-in-law, Johnnie C. Hardage. Seventeen great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren also survive.
