Aubrey L. Odom a Thomaston native passed away in his 78th year at his home in Tallahassee, FL. Aubrey was the son of Dr. Alvin Odom and Mrs. Minnie Harden Odom and was preceded in death by his brother Donald. Aubrey is survived by his son Alan Odom of Flower Mound, TX and his wife Stacey Palmer Odom and Alan’s children Jennifer, Christina, Elizabeth, and Jonathan. Aubrey’s extended family includes step daughters Mona Murphy and Zeda Sather and their children and grandchildren in the Phoenix, AZ area. Aubrey was a graduate of the Georgia Military College and Florida State University. He received a B.A. in Music and was a lifelong lover of music of all sorts. He distinguished himself as a leader and innovator in the ceramic tile and natural stone industries and founded several businesses in Florida and Arizona. In his career Aubrey travelled internationally, creating relationships over 40 years that last till this day. In the days since his passing word has come from all over the world remembering his jovial and sincere personal style. First and foremost though, Aubrey has been remembered for his ability to light up a room with his grin, his humor, and his support of his friends and family. Aubrey and his son Alan had an unconditional bond; few fathers and sons could approach their mutual love for one another. Aubrey adored his grandchildren, he was proud of each of them, gladly reciting their achievements and showing pictures of them to all that visited with him. Aubrey was a deeply committed Christian, knowledgeable about the bible and born with an ability to comfort those in distress with a few words form scriptures. Aubrey was an accomplished man, a business innovator, a gifted musician, a spiritual resource and most especially a loving father, grandfather, and friend.
