Betty Barnes Pierce

Mrs. Betty Barnes Pierce, 90, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Riverside Health and Rehab. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 30, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Rev. Virgil Smith officiating. Entombment will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until the funeral hour on Friday morning at Fetcher-Day Funeral Home. Mrs. Pierce was born February 11, 1926, in Camden, SC, to the late George Alonzo and Lucy Weathers Barnes. She had worked for the William Carter Company and was retired from Lanier Electronics. Survivors include her husband, Alva Roy Pierce, Sr. of Thomaston; her daughter, Jeanie Pierce (Jimmy) Hardage of Yatesville, GA; her son, Alva Roy (Vicki) Pierce, Jr. of Bumpass, VA; two granddaughters: Traci Hardage (Bill) Thompson of Yatesville, GA, and Sarah Pierce (Justin) Moore, of Ashland, VA; and three great grandchildren: Pierce Thompson and Ally Thompson both of Yatesville, GA, and Jason Moore of Ashland, VA.
