Mrs. Betty Perdue Harvey, age 90, of the West Village Retirement Community and formerly of 201 Magnolia Avenue, died Monay night at the Riverside Nursing Center in Thomaston. Mrs. Harvey was born in Brunswick, Georgia but moved to Thomaston at an early age. She was preceeded in death by her mother and father, Mattie Lou Black and Olin Seay Perdue. She was also predeeded in death by her husband, Wilburn Paul 'Pete' Harvey. A member of the Daughters of the American Revolution for over 30 years, Mrs. Harvey served as the DAR's School Chairman, Scretary and the Cemetery Committee. Mrs. Harvey was also a member of the Upson Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was also the Robert E. Lee Institute Class of 1939 Salutatorian. As a member of First Baptist Church, Mrs. Harvey served as director of the seven year old Sunday School Department for 20 years. She also served as President of the Woman's Missionary Union and as the Director of the Cradle Roll Ministry for 20 years. Mrs. Harvey also volunteered with First Baptist's House of Care Ministry and the American Red Cross's Blood Mobile. She is survived by: Her Daughter and Son-in Law Mrs. Martha H. (Tommy) Adams of Thomaston, Georgia Her Son and Daughter-in-Law Rev. Hubert (Marsha) Harvey of Huntington, West Virginia Grandchildren Mrs. Lisa (Joe) Lombardo of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mrs. Susan (Jay) Porter of Huntington, West Virginia and Mr. Douglas Harvey also of Huntington, West Virginia.
