Mrs. Carolyn Booth Knight, age 87, of Thomaston, died Monday, December 08, 2014 at Riverside Health and Rehab. Funeral services for Mrs. Knight will be held on Wednesday, December 10th, 2014 at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston. Rev. Herb Flanders will officiate and burial will follow in the Union Campground Cemetery in Taylor County. Mrs. Knight was a native of Taylor County, born on July 3rd, 1927. She was a graduate of the Macon School of Nursing and for many years served as Director of Nursing at Upson Regional Medical Center. She later served as an instructor at Gordon College. Mrs. Knight was a member of several civic organizations, including the Daughters of the American Revolution, The Thomaston Garden Club, The Thomaston Upson Historical Society and The Upson Regional Medical Auxilliary (past president). She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Knight is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Thomas) Murphy of Albany and Karen (Gerald) Norris of Tallahassee, FL; a son, Jimmy (Linda) Knight of Thomaston; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Knight, Sr. The family of Mrs. Knight will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday from 1 pm until the funeral hour.
