Christopher D. Huie, Jr.

March 25, 1949 — October 11, 2013

Mr. Christopher D. Huie, Jr., 64, of Thomaston, died Friday, October 11th, 2013 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Mr. Huie was a native of Miami Beach, FL., but grew up in the Augusta, GA., area. He was a graduate of Richmond Academy where he played football and was a shot putter for the track and field team. He later graduated from Augusta College with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Mr. Huie had been a resident of Thomaston and Upson County since 1973. He was a retired review appraiser for the Georgia Department of Transportation and during his career, he worked on property acquisition for many interstate highways throughout Georgia. Mr. Huie was a ham radio operator, call sign NG4P. He was also an avid reader and sports fan. His favorite teams included the Upson-Lee Knights, the Atlanta Braves, and he was especially passionate about the Georgia Bulldogs. Mr. Huie was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. He was a former member of the St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church. Mr. Huie is survived by his wife, Suzette P. Huie; his daughter, Stephanie Huie of Hilton Head, SC; his son, Christopher D. Huie, III, of Charleston, SC; and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Carey and Jan Pollett of Bishop.
