Mr. Donald Marion Shockley of Thomaston died Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015, at 11:00 AM, at East Thomaston Baptist Church. Rev. Joey Smith will officiate, and burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, January 14, from 5-7 PM at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home. Mr. Shockley, a veteran of the U. S. Navy, served in Japan, and he later retired from Delta Air Lines with 33 years of service. He assisted with preparing the Delta Airlines crop duster aircraft currently hanging in the Smithsonian Aeronautical Museum in Washington, DC. Mr. Shockley was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Milner Shockley of Thomaston; a daughter, Mrs. Rhonda S. (Kenneth) Prater of Fort Edward, NY; a son, Mr. Dana Shockley of Franklin, TN; and two grandsons, Capt. Jesse Prater, USAF, of Witchita, KS, and Mr. Zachary (Kate) Prater of Glens Falls, NY. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
