Mrs. Dorothy 'Dot' Brantley Cox, age 87, formerly of Thomaston, died August 9, 2016, in Decatur, TX. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Cox will be held on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at 2 pm in South View Cemetery with Rev. Bill Barber officiating. No visitation is planned at this time. Mrs. Dorothy Brantley 'Dot' Cox, 87, formerly of Thomaston, died Tuesday, August 9th, 2016 in Decatur, TX. Mrs. Cox was born in Macon on July 10, 1929. She was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute. Mrs. Cox was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston, where she attended the Builders Sunday School Class. She was a homemaker and beloved mother. Surviving members of the immediate family are son Tim (Lori) Cox of Paradise, TX; her grandsons Rusty & Jamie Cox, granddaughters Christin Hodges & Joanna Watts, great granddaughters Courtney Linscheid, Katelyn and Abigail Ary, great grandsons Jonathon Cox & Ty Watts, and one great great granddaughter Anna Jaye Linscheid. She was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy and son Terry Cox. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the First Baptist Church, 208 South Church St., Thomaston, GA 30286.
