Emmett Martin Presley, Sr.

Mr. Emmett Martin Presley, Sr., age 86, of 703 Brookwood Drive , Thomaston, died Saturday morning, March 24th, at his residence. He was a career military journalist, served during WWII and retired from the US Navy in 1966. Mr. Presley completed a second career in education and retired from Flint River Technical College in 1987. He and wife Vivian were members of Thomaston First Baptist Church. He was a long serving member of the local VFW and Masonic Lodge. Mr. Presley also served for many years as a board member for the City Zoning Appeals, Flint River Technical College Foundation and the McIntosh Regional Development Center. Mr. Presley was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Vivian Hood Presley, in December of 2011. Mr. Presley is survived his daughter and son; Mrs. Joy Presley (Danny) Dunnahoo, of Zebulon; Mr. E. Martin (Blanche) Presley, Jr., of Forsyth; 3 Granddaughters - Michelle, Jenifer, and Melissa.
