Emory Eldo Ellerbee Sr.

Mr. Emory Eldo Ellerbee, Sr., age 85, of Thomaston, died Friday, October 21, 2016, at his residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016, at 2:00 PM, at the Antioch United Methodist Church. Rev. Cleve McSwain and Rev. Wayne Collins will officiate, and burial will follow at Hendricks Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 1:00 until the funeral hour at Antioch United Methodist Church. Mr. Ellerbee, a son of the late William Thomas Ellerbee, Sr. and Mary Magdalene Shivers Ellerbee, was born on August 25, 1931. He was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and was retired from Thomaston Mills where he was Plant Superintendent of the Bleachery Division. Mr. Ellerbee retired from the U. S. Navy Reserve as a Chief Petty Officer, and he was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. Mr. Ellerbee was predeceased by his wife, Judy Carol Johnson Ellerbee and a brother, W. T. Ellerbee, Jr. He is survived by three sons: Emory (Martha Ann) Ellerbee of Acworth, GA; Mitchell (Anne) Ellerbee of The Rock, GA; and Scott (Lori) Ellerbee of Dallas, TX.; a brother, Garner M. (Martha) Ellerbee, of Thomaston; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Condolences and remembrances may be expressed at www.fletcherdayfuneralhome.com.
