Mr. Bachman was born in Baltimore, MD. but had lived in Yatesville for many years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and at the time of his retirement from the service held the rank of Machinist's Mate. After retiring from the Navy he was employed by Brown Transport as a truck driver. Mr. Bachman was active in community affairs in Yatesville. He was a member of the Yatesville Sr. Citizens Club and he and his wife, Ruth Bachman, were named Mr. and Mrs. Chitlin Hoedown and served as Grand Marshals of the Chitlin Hoe Down Parade. He attended Yatesville Baptist Church. Mr. Bachman enjoyed camping with the Metropolitan Camping Club, loved music and John Wayne western movies. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bachman is survived by a daughter, Beverly Gebrosky of Spartanberg, SC; three sons, Charles M. Stanley, Jr., of Morrow, Gene Bachman, Jr., of Dallas and Billy Bachman of Summerville, OH; and a brother, Frederick L. Bachman, Jr., of Delaware. Ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.
