Eunice Christina Pickar Crosby

Eunice Christina Pickar Crosby was born in North Washington, Iowa on December 16, 1918 to Bill and Clara (Adams) Pickar. She passed away at her home in Lyle, Washington July 13, 2010 at the age of 91. When Eunice was two years old, her mother died. In 1936, Eunice graduated from high school and three years later, on May 15, 1939, she married Jim Crosby. The couple moved to Wishram, Washington in 1941 where Mrs. Crosby worked as a clerk for Spokane, Portland, Seattle Railroad and later for Burlington Northern. She was devoted to her church and her Catholic faith. Eunice enjoyed shopping for shoes and clothes, a good cup of coffee and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She kept busy tending her garden and like the company of her kitty, Snoopy. Mrs. Crosby will be missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Dick Harville of Thomaston, GA., her step daughter Phyllis, grandchildren Andrea and Sheila and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 2004 and a son in 1942. A funeral mass was held at 2 pm, Monday, July 19, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in White Salmon, Washington with interment at the White Salmon Cemetery. Gardner Funeral Home handled arrangements.
