Florence Turner Ford

Mrs. Florence Turner Ford, 94, of Marietta, died Saturday, June 2nd, 2012 at her home. Mrs. Ford was born on January 2, 1918 in Upson County, a daughter of the late Arte Green Turner and Leila Mallory Turner. During World War II she enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps and held the rank of Lieutenant at the time of her discharge. Mrs. Ford was a retired school teacher and taught 2nd grade in the Dekalb County School System. She was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Ford is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Don Hicks of Marietta; a sister, Antionette Penn of Douglasville; and three grandchildren, Tracy Banovatz of Roswell, Erin Banovatz of Washington, DC, and Travis Turner Banovatz of Marietta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Chester Ford.
