Helen Moore Turner

Helen Moore Turner, age 95, died at her home December 6, 2009. She was born October 28, 1914 in Lamar County to Walter Herbert Moore and Cora Bankston Moore. Educated at The Rock High School, Gordon College, and the Artistic Institute, she was owner operator of Helen's Beauty Shop for thirty five years. She was a member of The First United Methodist Church, Service Sunday School class, United Methodist Women, UMW Altar Guild, Golden Bells, The Thomaston Garden Club, Hobby Club, John Houston Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Thomaston Arts Council. She was married for 50 years to the late Joseph Harrison Turner. Survivors include Harriet Turner Hurst (Terrell) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Carole Turner Blihovde of Thomaston, and grandchildren Michael Terrell Hurst (Jemma) of Brentwood, Tennessee, Carole Louise Hurst (Chad Pankratz) of Seattle, Washington, Brian Harrison Blihovde (Euna) of Portland, Oregon, William Boyd Blihovde of Orlando, Florida, Robert Bruce Blihovde (Alycia) of Baghdad, Iraq, and four great grandchildren.
