James S. "Jim" Moore

September 25, 1933 — June 10, 2013

Mr. James S. 'Jim' Moore, 79, of Woodland Hwy, Thomaston, died Monday, June 10th, 2013 at his home. Mr. Moore was a native of Ninety Six, SC, but was raised in Greenwood and Abbeville, SC. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and served during the Korean War. During his tenure in the Navy he was assigned as a courier at the Pentagon. After his military service Mr. Moore was graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Southern Illinois University. In 1984 he accepted a position at Upson Regional Medical Center as Director of Plant Services, a position he held until his retirement. Mr. Moore Mr. Moore was a member of the Ormand Beach Lodge 326, Free and Accepted Masons. He enjoyed several hobbies, including reading, crossword puzzles, fishing and boating. He had been a member of the Hightower Memorial Methodist Church. Mr. Moore is survived by his wife, Carol F. Moore; daughters Evelyn (Duane) Whitman of Arlington, VA, and Pamela Klinkburg of Florida; a sister, Betty (Ivan) Armacost of Winchester, VA; a brother, Michael (Reta) Moore of Mechanicsville, VA; four grandchildren, Brittany Hogan, Garrett Hogan, Laren Klinkburg and Ali Klinkburg; four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
