Mrs. Jane Caldwell Ellis, 59, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, August 10th, 2010 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Memorial services for Mrs. Ellis will be held Friday, August 13th, 2010 at 4 pm in the Fincher Chapel of the Life Springs Church on Hwy. 109 in Meansville with Rev. Kyle Smith and Rev. Mark Burgess officiating. Mrs. Ellis was a native of Upson County, a daughter of Thomas Caldwell and Thelma Hammock Caldwell. She was a 1969 graduate of R. E. Lee High School. Mrs. Ellis was an active member of the Life Springs Church, United Methodist Community in Pike County. She was also a former Griffin District Treasurer for the United Methodist Women. She was an avid and active Cub and Boy Scout Leader as well as a District Scout Council member. She was a member of the Upson County Ministerial Association and was a former chaplain at Upson Regional Medical Center. She is survived by her daughter, Shannon (Chris) Franquero of Macon; a son, Shane (Tanya Dunn) Ellis of Thomaston; and a grandson, Steven Dale Ellis of Thomaston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Organization, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas TX 75244, or the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 841, Thomaston, GA 30286. Following the service for Mrs. Ellis a reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Life Springs Church.
