Jefflyn Ruth Bartlett Hardy

Mrs. Jefflyn Ruth Bartlett Hardy, age 85, formerly of 980 Lawrence Rd., Molena, died Friday, Novbember 27th, 2009 at the home of her son, Willis 'Dick' Hardy, Jr., of 980 Yatesville-Barnesville Rd., Yatesville. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 29th, 2009 at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home in Thomaston with Rev. Billy Lawrence officiating. Burial was in the Molena City Cemetery. Mrs. Hardy was born on May 16th, 1924, the only child of Lucile and Shade Bartlett. She was the salutatorian of her Molena High School Class and graduated from Bessie Tift College in 1946. Following graduation Mrs. Hardy taught English and coached basketball in Fayette County and Pike County, then was employed by AT & T in Atlanta. In 1951 she married Willis Hardy, Sr., of Molena. Mrs. Hardy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Mark Bartlett Hardy. Mrs. Hardy is survived by her son, Willis 'Dick' Hardy, Jr.; her daughters-in-law, Deborah Hardy of Yatesville and Kimberly Hardy of Thomaston; four grandchildren, Amelia Hardy, April (Justin) Savage, Russell Brumbelow and Mitchell Brumbelow; and two great-grandchildren, Jacob Savage and Andrew Savage. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105; the Molena Baptist Church, 1096 Highway 18 West, Molena, GA 30258; or the Antioch Baptist Church, 2269 Yatesville Road Yatesville, GA 31097.
