Mr. John E. Dickens, Jr, age 81, of 207 Memoiral Drive, Barnesville, and formelry of Thomaston, died Friday in the Coliseum Medical Center in Macon. Mr. Dickens was a native of Upson County. He was a Naval Veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Dickens was retired Vice-President of the First National Bank of Barnesville. He was a member of the Rotary Club and the Lions Club. Mr. Dickens was a member of the First Baptist Church of Barnesville , where he was a life deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Dickens. Mr. Dickens is survived by his wife - Mrs. Virginia Harwell Dickens, of Barnesville; 2 Daughters - Mrs. Debra (Joe) Trosclair, of Biloxi, Mississippi;and Mrs. Shari Ketchum, of Griffin; 1 Son - Mr. Keith (Dana) Dickens, of Concord; 3 Sisters - Mrs. Rozelle McCard and Mrs. Doris Hopkins, both of Thomston and Mrs. Brenda (Jeff) Lackey, of Tennessee; 3 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Granchildren also survive.
