Kathryn Lindsey Schwarz died in hospice care in Griffin on December 29, 2014. She was born in Thomaston, Georgia on November 13, 1928. Kathryn retired as the assistant controller of Gordon College and in her retirement enjoyed playing bridge and was an active member at First Presbyterian Church in Thomaston. She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. and Mary H. Lindsey, her siblings, William (Heyward) Lindsey, Mildred Brantley, Helen Shelly and Faye Kitchens. She lost her middle daughter, Tina Schwarz Helms in 2009 to breast cancer. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Schwarz Griffin (Harry) and Melanie Schwarz Logue (Terry), 4 grandchildren, Brandy Kilgore, Zachary Pitts, Chris Helms and Jonathan Williams. Also surviving are 8 great-grandchildren, as well as her brother-in-law, Harris Brantley and her loving nieces and nephews. Memorial services for Mrs. Schwarz will be held on Sunday, January 11th, 2015 at 2 pm at the First Presbyterian Church in Thomaston with Rev. Dave Omerod and Dr. Al Simmons officiating.
