Larry B. Turner

November 21, 1943 — July 23, 2009

Mr. Turner was a native of Thomaston, the son of the late Rex Turner, Sr., and Lillian Pouncey Turner. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, during which he served as a Medical Service Corps Field Sanitation Engineer with a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital Unit. Mr. Turner was a graduate of Auburn University and received a Master's Degree from the University of Maine. He was a civil engineer and served as the general manager of the Peachtree City Water and Sewer Authority for many years. Mr. Turner was an accomplished bridge player and held the position of contract bridge player at the Macon Duplicate Bridge Club. Mr. Turner is survived by his wife, Mildred Huff Turner; his daughter, Debra Martin of Ackerman, MS; and two grandchildren, Tara Martin of Starksville, MS, and Kane Martin of Atlanta. Memorial services will be held Friday, July 31st, 2009 at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Dukes and Rev. Hunter Huff officiating. Interment of cremains will follow in South View Cemetery.
