Lois (Teal) Mathis Gatlin

Mrs. Lois (Teal) Mathis Gatlin, age 86, of 1011 South Green St. died early Monday morning at Providence Health Care. Mrs. Gatlin was born in Molena Georgia to the late William Arnold, and Addie Lou Phelps Teal. She move to Thomaston in 1944, where she worked for B. F. Goodrich Co. as a Respooler & Tie-In Operator until she retired in 1975. Mrs. Gatlin was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was Preceded in death by her husbands B. M. Mathis Jr. & G. H. Gatlin, and a son Jay Edward Mathis. Mrs. Gatlin was survived by her daughter, Loraine (Charles) Greathouse of Thomaston, GA; son, Sheridan D. (Carol) Mathis, Sr. of Conyers GA; a very special friend like a son, Paul Watson of Thomaston, GA; two sisters, Yvonne Pilcher of New Orleans LA; Joyce Lewis of Roberta, GA; three brothers Alton Teal, Rev. J. B. Teal, and Louie Teal all of Thomaston, GA; eight grandchlidren, fifteen great grandchlidren, and 2 great great grandchlidren. Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
