Louise Hunt Pitts

May 9, 1918 — August 4, 2010

Mrs. Pitts was born in Penton, AL., on May 9, 1918, a daughter of Monroe S. Hunt and Addie Elizabeth Duke Hunt. She was a 1936 graduate if R. E. Lee Institute and worked for a short while as a spooler for the Martha Mills Division of B. F. Goodrich Company. On April 15, 1938 Mrs. Pitts married her husband, Charles M. Pitts and became a homemaker. Theirs was a union that would last for 54 years, until his death in 1994. Mrs. Pitts was a long-time member of Fellowship Baptist Church where she taught Vacation Bible School and Sunday School classes for over 40 years and also kept the nursery. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Union. Mrs. Pitts is survived by her daughter, Judie McDonald of Tampa, FL; her son, Rev. C. Carey (Angela) Pitts of Thomaston; her grandchildren, Dana (Daniel) Evans of Thomaston, Erin (Jonathon) Lones of Macon, and James McDonald and Jessica McDonald, both of Tampa, FL; and two great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fellowship Baptist Church, 3313 Crest Highway, Thomaston, GA 30286 or to the donor’s favorite charity.
