Luella Head Boyers

March 6, 1923 — May 25, 2012

Mrs. Luella Head Boyers, 89, formerly of 820 Cedarwood Ln., Thomaston, died Friday, May 25th, 2012 at the Morningside Assisted Living Facility in Columbus. Mrs. Boyers was born in Barnesville, a daughter of the late Charles Turner Head and Mary Ella Banks Head. She had lived in Thomaston since 1942. She was known throughout the community as an accomplished cook and was famous for her caramel cakes. Mrs. Boyers was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Golden Age Club and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Friday morning Bridge Club. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boyers was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Boyers, Sr., and her grandparents, Zack Bartow Head and Lizzie Chandler Head. Mrs. Boyers is survived by her two sons, Major (Ret) Charles (Judy) Boyers of Cartersville and James E. 'Ed' (Brenda) Boyers of Columbus. Three grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.
