Mr. Mark Fowler, 51, of Thomaston, died Sunday, August 18th, 2013 at the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon. Mr. Fowler was the owner and lead technician of Mark's Automotive and Performance Center in Thomaston. He was born at Kincheloe Air Force Base in Kincheloe, MI, on March 27th, 1962. He had lived in Thomaston since 1974. Mr. Fowler was not only a local business owner, but was also a very well known drag racer with many accomplishments in the sport. He was the 1984 Division 2 runner-up in the Pro E. T., the winner of the 1989 Division 2 Super Pro Race of Champions, the 1989 Super Pro Track Champion, the 2008 and 2009 Silver Dollar Track Champion and made it to the 2009 Million Dollar Race Quarter Finals, as well as many other race wins. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association. His passion was his business, racing, and his two grandchildren. Mr. Fowler was also the co-owner and head engineer of INSANE Engineering and Design. Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife, Vicki C. Fowler; his daughter and son-in-law, Sasha and Trey Holley of Zebulon; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Bonnie Corley of Thomaston; a grandson, Jordan Levi Holley and a granddaughther, Cazzidy Kane English, both of Zebulon. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Fowler and Marian Fowler, and his sister, Jean Fowler Hunter.
