Mrs. Martha Lupo Searcy, age 98,who spent most of her life in Thomaston, made her transition to Heaven on April 10, 2013 in Fairborn, Ohio near the home of her daughter and faithful caretaker, Ann Tidwell. Mrs. Searcy, widow of Theron Searcy, was retired from Thomaston Mills and had been in declining health in recent years. She was a charter member of Trinity Baptiust Church where she taught Sunday School for several decades. She was born in Empire, Georgia on March 14, 1915 to Young Green and Ivy Lupo. Her siblings, all deceased, were Floyd Lupo, Ruth Mullis, Edna English, and Lavinia Fountain. She was strongly devoted to her Lord, husband, and family. She is survived by her daughter Ann (John B.) Tidwell, son Mickey (Nancy) Searcy, grandchildren Betsy (Peter) de Graaf , Wendy Tidwell McCance, Rhett T. (Patricia) Searcy and Michael D. Searcy. Her great -grandchildren are Emily and Michael de Graaf, Lauren and Katie McCance, and Caroline and Travis Searcy. Several nieces and nephews also survive, including Sue Bryant of Macon, David English, Carol Reed, and Margie Roberts.
