Miss Ozell Eleanor Gordy

Miss Ozell Eleanor Gordy, 79, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Miss Gordy will be held on Friday, October 30th, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home with Dr. Rex King and Rev. Tim South officiating. Burial will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Miss Gordy will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Miss Gordy was born in Pike County on July 9th, 1936, a daughter of the late Byron Barnard Gordy and Bessie Stribling Gordy. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Elkins Creek Baptist Church. Miss Gordy is survived by a son, Mickey Gordy of Thomaston; a sister, Elaine Nordan of Thomaston; four brothers, David (Donna) Gordy, Joe (Faye) Gordy and Cyrus Gordy, all of Thomaston, and Bobbie Gordy of Griffin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Miss Gordy was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Hall, and three brothers, Buford Gordy, Jack Gordy and Raymond Gordy.
