Mr. A. Chance Royal

Mr. A. Chance Royal, 39, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, March 20, 2019, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Royal will be held Saturday, March 23, at 2:00 PM, at Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Dean Hemphill will officiate, and burial will follow in South View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM, at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Royal, a native of Thomaston, was born January 3, 1980, to Ronald "Gramps" and Debbie Self Royal. He was a 1998 graduate of Upson-Lee High School and was employed by the Motor Carrier Compliance Division of the Georgia Department of Public Safety. Mr. Royal was an avid music lover, and he was an incredible self-taught guitarist. He played and recorded with well-known musicians and was loved by people all around the world. Mr. Royal was a member of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Shad (Terri) Hasty of Thomaston; his dearly devoted girlfriend and love of his life, Ginger Brown of Macon, GA; a niece: Jasmine Johnson of Thomaston; two nephews: Kevin and Slade Hasty, both of Thomaston; a great niece, Harper Hasty, of Thomaston; maternal aunts and uncles: Janis (Thomas) Bethune and Gary (Dot) Self, all of Thomaston; paternal aunts and uncles: Judy Garvin of Millen, GA; June (Wayne) Carpenter of Thomaston; Brenda (Larry) Thompson of Sylvania, GA; Raymond (Martha) Royal; and Donald (Pam) Royal of Barnesville, GA.
