Mr. Andrew Clifton Oglesby

Mr. Andrew Clifton "Andy" Oglesby, 75, of Thomaston, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at Riverside Health and Rehab. Funeral services for Mr. Oglesby will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Antioch United Methodist Church. Burial will military honors will follow in the Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family of Mr. Oglesby will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday, October 25, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mr. Oglesby was born September 30, 1943, in Gay, GA to William Oglesby and Lenora Chastain. He graduated from Berry Academy in 1961 and attended Flint River Technical College. He was a Marine and served our country in the Vietnam War. Mr. Oglesby worked for the Thomaston-Upson County School System as a bus driver for 15 years. He managed Sing Oil for 15 years. He also worked for Rhodes Furniture, Bostwick Furniture, and Thomaston Mills. He retired from the State of Georgia Department of Corrections in 2010. Mr. Oglesby was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church where he served the Lord in many capacities over the years. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Winnie Reynolds, mother and father, William Oglesby and Lenora Chastain, and grandson, Isaac Zolman. Mr. Oglesby is survived by his precious wife of 49 years, Joan; daughters, Alisa (Craig) Helms and Debbie (Jerry) Zolman; son, Andrew Oglesby, Jr.; grandchildren, Austin, Laykin and Jeremy Helms, Haylie Caleb, and Alayna Zolman, and Dylan Oglesby; and one great-grandchild, Anna Helms.
