Mr. Bobby Hamby

Mr. Bobby Hamby, age 70, of Thomaston, died Thursday, January 6, 2022, at his residence. Memorial services for Mr. Hamby will be held on Sunday, January 9, at 2:00 PM, at Twin Oaks Baptist Tabernacle. Pastor Kevin Stroup will officiate. The service will be live streamed at TOBT4ME.ORG. The family will receive friends following the service at the residence of Nicky Hamby, 1399 The Rock Road, Thomaston, GA 30286. Mr. Hamby was born in Thomaston on September 13, 1951, to the late Ernest Radford Hamby and Mary Lizzie Tolen Hamby. He was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and was a retired driver for United Parcel Service. Mr. Hamby was the trustee for Twin Oaks Baptist Tabernacle, and he enjoyed farming, horses, and family. He would help anyone in need. Mr Hamby is survived by his wife, Jackie Hamby of Thomaston; two daughters: Wendy (Corey) Moncrief of Spring, TX, and Kristina (Jeff) Pemberton of Newland, NC; two sons: Robert Hamby of Yatesville, GA, and Anthony (Karen) Wallace of Atlanta, GA; five sisters: Hazel James and Runette (Richard) Bobo, both of Macon, GA; Elizabeth Harris of San Juan Capistrano, CA; Ernestine (Larry) Fordham of Thomaston, GA; and Diane (Gil) Hamby of Snellville, GA; and one brother: Benny Hamby of Thomaston, GA. Five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews also survive. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of all arrangements.
