Mr. Carl Hubert Brown

Mr. Carl Hubert Brown, 87, of Thomaston, died Thursday, December 6, 2018, at Riverside Health and Rehab. Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held on Saturday, December 8, 2018, at 11:00 AM at East Thomaston Baptist Church with Rev. Joey Smith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. Brown will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00 until 7:00 PM. Mr. Brown was born in Woodbury on December 30, 1930, a son of the late Johnnie and Launa Whaley Brown. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force, including a tour of duty in Vietnam, and retired as a Master Sergeant with 20 years of service. After his military service Mr. Brown was employed for 20 years with the Georgia Department of Agriculture. He was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church. Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Marie Brown; his son, Allen Brown of Orlando, FL; two step-children, Janna (Jim) Qualls of Peachtree City and Tommy (Wendy) Montgomery of Columbus; two brothers, Jerry (Diane) Brown and Donnie (Jean) Brown of Woodbury; a sister-in-law, Lujean Brown of LaGrange; nine nieces and nephews and several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvah Brown and Bobby Brown. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Thomaston Baptist Church, P. O. Box 329, Thomaston, GA 30286.
