Mr. Charles David Mixon, 67, of Chamblee and formerly of Thomaston, died Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 at his home. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Mixon will be held on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 at 4 pm in Glenwood Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Pooler officiating. The family of Mr. Mixon will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 2 until 4 pm. Mr. Mixon was born on May 22, 1949, a son of the late Dr. Charles E. and Martha Jewel Pasley Mixon. He was a graduate of R. E. Lee High School, West Georgia College and the Mercer University School of Pharmacy. He was also an Eagle Scout. He practiced pharmacy in the Atlanta area for many years, most recently for the Kroger Company. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Mixon is survived by his son, Mike (Mary) Chambers of Atlanta; two sisters, Cathy (Jim) Ruffin of Marietta and Kelly M. Kelly of Thomaston; two brothers, Tommy (Frances) Mixon of Thomaston and Mickey (Gina) Mixon of Winder; and two grandsons, Kane Chambers and Nate Chambers, both of Atlanta. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda S. 'Lynn' Mixon.
