Mr. Clifford Lowell Mcswain

Mr. Clifford Lowell McSwain, age 91, of Molena, GA, died Monday morning, September 30, 2019, at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin. Funeral services for Mr. McSwain will be held on Wednesday, October 2, at 4:00 PM in the Chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. McSwain will receive friends on Tuesday evening, October 1, from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Mr. McSwain was born on February 3, 1928, in Upson County to the late Jesse McSwain and Sallie Corley McSwain. He served his country honorably and faithfully in the U.S. Air Force. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and Auburn University. Mr. McSwain was a teacher and principal for the Upson County School System, later serving as Superintendent. In his later years he served as a professor at Gordon College for over 20 years. Mr. McSwain was a member of The Rock United Methodist Church and was an accomplished pianist. Mr. McSwain leaves behind to cherish his memory, Life Partner, Tim Helton of Molena; sons, David (Joyce) McSwain, Mark (Lori) McSwain both of Thomaston; Thomas (Pam) McSwain of Albany; stepchildren, Eric (Erin) Helton of Forsyth; Jessica (Nathan) Jones of Thomaston; a brother, Tony McSwain of Sandy Springs; grandchildren, Meagan (Cory) Johnson, Zachery McSwain, Jess McSwain, Jacob McSwain, Lauren McSwain, Hobson McSwain, Windham McSwain, Leon McSwain; step grandchildren, Eli and Ellie Helton, Ashleigh Jones, McCain Jones, Lindsey Jones, Camron Jones, Colby Jones, Meghan, Christopher; great grandchildren, Zain, Autumn, and Zelda McSwain, and Banks McCoy Johnson; step greatgrandchild, Harlen.
