Mr. Clinton L. Smith, 89, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 at the Heritage Inn of Barnesville. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held at the Thomaston Church of God on Friday, October 24th, 2014 at 2 pm with Bishop Danny Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. Mr. Smith was born in the Lifsey Springs Community of Pike County on February 26th, 1925, a son of the late Benjamin F. Smith and Cora Mae Holbrook Smith. For 42 years he was employed by Thomaston Mills. After his retirement he worked at Cooks Market and SOS Water Systems. Mr. Smith was a faithful member of the Thomaston Church of God for 75 years. He served his church as a clerk, usher, on the Pastoral Board and was active in the Men's Fellowship. He ministered to people by taking them food prepared by his wife, Betty L. Smith. He was a true Man of God. In addition to his wife, Mr. Smith is survived by two daughters, Judy Smith (George) Reedy of Molena and Joy (Carl) Parnell of Meansville; a son, Jim Smith of Brazil, IN; a sister, Cora Mae Griffeth of Cumming; four grandchildren, Melissa Salter, Danny (Tina) Parnell, Christal Parnell (Chris) Cochran and Christopher Parnell; and five great grandchildren, Ethan Parnell, Justin Tyme Fleming, Chloie Cochran, Jonathan Helms and Connor Clark. He was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Daniel 'Danny' Smith. The family of Mr. Smith will receive friends at Pasley-Fletcher Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 until 9 pm.
