Mr. David Ronald "Ronnie" Taylor

Mr. David Ronald "Ronnie" Taylor, age 74, of Thomaston, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at his residence. Memorial services for Mr. Taylor will be held Thursday, December 30, at 11:00 AM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Dr. Rex King and Mr. Andrew B. Taylor will officiate, and he will be laid to rest in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 29, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Mr. Taylor, a lifelong resident of Upson County was born August 12, 1947, to the late Thomas Henry Taylor and Mildred Goodman Taylor. He was a 1965 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute, and was employed by Gilbert Oil Company for more than 23 years as a truck driver. He later retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation where his positions included asphalt and District 3 Maintenance Equipment Operator. Mr. Taylor was a member of Clark's Chapel Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Taylor; an infant sister, Margaret Ruth Taylor; and a niece, Lori Anne Taylor. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Melinda Hewett Taylor; two sons: Andrew Brookins Taylor (David Beavers), and David Hewett (Jennifer) Taylor; a sister, Norma Ward of Warm Springs, GA; two grandchildren: Trinity Taylor and Hylan Taylor. Two nieces, one nephew, and a great niece also survive.
