Mr. David Valentine 'Bubba' Pace, 69, of Thomaston, passed away at the Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin on Thursday, October 6th, 2016 after an extended illness. Graveside funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 9th, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the Whidby-Pace Family Cemetery in Gray with Rev. Ron McClung officiating. Although there will be no family visitation scheduled, David will lie in repose at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 until 5:00 pm. David was born on February 14, 1947 in Gray, a son of the late James Milton Pace, Sr., and Edith Leona Jones Pace. He had lived in Thomaston for the past 20 years, first in a group home supported by the Gilmore Center, and later with his sister, Martha Sanders, in her home. David is survived by four sisters, Martha Sanders of Thomaston, and Peggy Anne Ussery, Ethel Ruth Pace and Judy Elaine Petty, all of Gray. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; James Milton 'Jim' Pace, Jr., Joseph Daniel 'Dan' Pace, William Adolphus 'Bill' Pace, Robert Lamar 'Bob' Pace, Doris Edith Sanders, Margaret Ellen Pace and Norma Jean English. David's family requests that donations in his memory be made to the Eternal Hope Hospice, 732 W. Taylor St., Griffin, GA 30223. The family will gather at the home of his sister, Ethel Pace, 674 Bowen Hill Rd., Haddock, GA 31033. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
