Mr. Edgar Hugh Legg, 88, of Thomaston died Tuesday December 17, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Legg was born December 30, 1930 to the late Edd Florence Legg and Cora Myrtle Smith Legg. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was retired from Thomaston Mills Bleachery Division. He was a member of the Flint River Primitive Baptist Church. Mr. Legg was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Bonnie Sue Hardy Legg, October 3, 2017. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mrs. Lois Goree, Miss Sara Legg, and Miss Frankie Legg. Mr. Legg is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Tim Cook and Kathy and Glen Kirkland, all of Griffin; three grandchildren, Meredith and Ryan Willis of Griffin, Caitlin and John Suddarth of Valdosta, and Kevin Kirkland of Milner; six great-grandchildren, Riley, Asher and Ivy Jayne Kirkland, Waylon and Nash Willis, and Shep Suddarth; also his beloved dog and constant companion, Dixie. Funeral services for Mr. Legg will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Elder Lavone Anderson and Elder Edward McIntyre will officiate and burial will follow in the Friendship Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family of Mr. Legg will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 4:00 until 6:00 PM. Flowers will be accepted, but donations can also be made to the Upson County Humane Society, P. O. Box 1152, Thomaston, GA 30286. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
