Mr. Emory Jarrell Pitts, Sr., age 85, of Thomaston, died Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at Upson Regional Medical Center. In accordance with his wishes, no services are planned.
Mr. Pitts was born in Upson County on March 19, 1939, to the late Cecil Lloyd Pitts, Sr. and the late Thelma Jarrell Pitts. He was a 1957 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and was the retired owner/operator of Hometown Printers, a family business which served Thomaston and Upson County for forty-five years. Mr. Pitts was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pitts was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandy Beth Pitts, a son, Emory Jarrell Pitts, Jr., and special friends, Sam and Reba Boyt. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Omie Partain Pitts of Thomaston; two daughters: Michele Pitts of Thomaston and Daphne (Benjamin) Neuhoff of Pasadena, CA; a sister, Virginia (Henry) Taunton; two brothers: Cecil Pitts, Jr. and Edward (Lavelle) Pitts; four grandchildren: Andrew (Mercie) Pitts, Benjamin (Brittany) Pitts, Christopher (Anurag) Pitts, and Dylan (Caley) Pitts; three great grandchildren: Charlotte Pitts, Madison Pitts, and Aurora Pitts. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
