Mr. Eugene J. Berry

August 1, 1927 — February 17, 2016

Mr. Eugene J. Berry, 88, of Stockbridge and formerly of Thomaston, died Wednesday, February 17th, 2016 at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Berry will be held on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Upson Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. Berry will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 4 until 6 pm. Mr. Berry was a native of Charleston, West Virginia, born on August 1st, 1927. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and served in Alaska during World War II. He was retired from the Owens Illinois Glass Company. Mr. Berry enjoyed fishing, rock collecting and gardening. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Berry is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Barbara Berry of Stockbridge; a sister, June Clark of Dunbar, WV; two grandchildren, Jennifer Lynn Blood and Britney Nicole Jackson, both of Stockbridge; and two great grandchildren, Sebastian Blood and Charley Blood. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Ellen Berry and his daughter, Shanda Renae Berry.
