Mr. Fred Brown Mulling

Mr. Fred Brown Mulling, age 90, of Yatesville, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 21, 2023, at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Mulling will be held Wednesday, August 23, at 3:00 PM, at Yatesville United Methodist Church with Rev. Ariana Eberle and Rev. Wade Corley officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be held prior to the funeral service from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Interment will follow the service at Yatesville United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Mulling was born on June 9, 1933, to the late Fred Hicks Mulling and the late Cleta Brown Mulling. He graduated from Yatesville High School in 1950. Following graduation, he served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Mulling married Dorothy Ruffin Mulling on August 5, 1955. They recently celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary. He retired from Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a faithful, lifelong member of Yatesville United Methodist Church. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and the Yatesville Senior Citizens. In his younger years, he was an avid quail hunter and could be found each October cooking chitlin’s for the Chitlin’ Hoedown.

Survivors include his loving wife of 68 years, Dorothy Ruffin Mulling, nieces Kristi (Jeff) Hayes and Katie (Shane) Moore, sisters-in-law, Ruth Mulling and Martha Ruffin Rodgers and brother-in-law, Johnny Ruffin as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews who affectionately called him “Uncle Sonny”. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents Mr. Mulling was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Mulling.
