Mr. Gerald Hugh Holloway

Mr. Gerald Hugh Holloway, age 85, of Thomaston, GA, died Thursday, December 27, 2018, at his residence. Memorial services for Mr. Holloway will be held Monday, December 31, at 2:00 PM, at the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston with Rev. Eddie Herring officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the church for one hour prior to the service. . Mr. Holloway was born in Thomaston on November 24, 1933, to the late Thomas Hugh Holloway and Ruth Wilson Holloway. He was a 1952 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and attended Auburn University where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity. He later joined his father at Holloway Tire Company which he operated until his retirement in 1988. Mr. Holloway was an avid Auburn fan, and he enjoyed attending Auburn football games. His hobbies included tennis, boating, flying, hunting, traveling, and studying the stock market. Mr. Holloway was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church of Thomaston where he was a member of the Schumacher Sunday School Class and served on numerous committees, his favorite being the Endowment Committee. In addition to his parents, Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by a sister, Angelyn Holloway Hightower. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kay Craddock Holloway of Thomaston; his daughter, Janice Holloway (Dr. Jeff) Moll of Navarre, FL; his son, Paige (Dana) Holloway, of Thomaston; his sister, Elsie Holloway Watts; three grandchildren: Bryson (Catherine) Holloway, Raley Holloway, and Tanner Moll; and two great grandchildren: Annie and Dane Holloway. Several cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
