Mr. Harold Dawson Fallin, 77, of Thomaston, died Friday, January 31, at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Fallin will be held on Friday, February 7, at 2:00 PM, in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Valley Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the funeral hour. Mr. Fallin was born in Pike County on February 15, 1942, to the late Melvin Hoyt Fallin and Mattie Dawson Fallin. He was a graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and received an Associates Degree from ABAC. He was the owner/operator of Hickory Hill Farm. He was the former president of Georgia Farm Products Sales Corporation and served as Chairman of the Georgia Soil & Water Conservation Commission, Two Rivers Resource Conservation and Development Board, Towaliga Soil & Water Conservation District, Upper Flint Regional Water Planning Council, Upson County Farm Bureau Board and the Georgia Farm Bureau Aquaculture Committee. Mr. Fallin was a former branch executive with Farm Credit. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Fallin is survived by a daughter, Denise Fallin (Jason) Deal of Gainesville, GA; a son, Mark (Wendy) Fallin of Thomaston, GA; five grandchildren: Fallin, Noah, and Dawson Deal, all of Gainesville, GA; Preston Fallin of Maryland; and Tristan Fallin of Thomaston, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Valley Grove Baptist Church, 1372 Atwater Road, Thomaston, GA 30286. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of all arrangements.
