Mr. Harvey Ware Snow, 91, of Thomaston, died Monday, August 15, 2022, at Mountainside Senior Living of Warm Springs. Graveside services for Mr. Snow will be held on Friday, August 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM in Upson Memorial Gardens. Rev. Ted Kandler will officiate.
Mr. Snow was born in Valdosta, GA, on September 22, 1930, a son of the late Rigdon Vaughn Snow and Pearl Harvey Snow. He was a graduate of Waycross High School, and a 1952 graduate of the University of Georgia, where he majored in Chemistry and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Mr. Snow served his country in the U. S. Air Force from 1952 through 1954 during the Korean Conflict. After his service in the Air Force, Mr. Snow married and moved to Thomaston and was employed for over 40 years by Thomaston Mills in the Bleachery Division. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston where he was a former member of the Sanctuary Choir, Deacon, and active member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He was a member of the Thomaston Lion’s club for more than 50 years and was an avid golfer. He flew with the Civil Air Patrol.
Mr. Snow is survived by his wife, Tommie Ann Bryan Snow of Thomaston; a daughter, Marie (Tommy) Thompson of Easley, SC; a son, Bryan (Peggy) Snow of Lyons, GA; a sister, Marjorie Weaver Rew of Waycross, GA; three grandchildren, Jesse (Mabry) Thompson of Easley, SC; Abi (Jared) Tschupp of Atlanta; Sydney Snow of Savannah; two great grandchildren, Beckett Tschupp and Mabel Thompson; and three nephews, Rip Snow, John Weaver, and Glenn Weaver.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Snow was preceded in death by his brother, Rigdon (Donnie) V. Snow, Jr. and a niece, Abigail Snow.
Heartfelt thanks go to the staff of Mountain Side Senior Living and to Brightmoor Hospice for their care of Mr. Snow.
