Jack Milburn Ellington, age 87, of Clayton, went to be with the Lord August 28, 2015 at the Habersham Medical Center. Jack was born in Thomaston, GA the son of the late Susie and Louie Ellington. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Ronald J. Ellington, a brother Elmer P. Ellington, and a sister Mable E. Avery. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Elaine Ellington of which they celebrated 61 years of marriage with on August 19, 2015. In addition to his wife, Jack is survived by two brothers Calvin S. Ellington., Thomas Jefferson Ellington both of Thomaston, GA., brother-In-law Fred Jordan of Tallahassee, Fl., and also a number of nieces, nephew, other family and friends. Jack and his wife Elaine lived in Cairo, Ga. for 32 years prior to their relocating to Rabun County. There he was a member of Cairo First United Methodist Church where he was a faithful member of the choir. He was a member of the Cairo Golden Kiwanis and volunteered with the youth ministry and boy scouts. In Rabun County he volunteered with the Baptist Disaster Relief that participated in clean ups after natural disasters. He also was an avid volunteer with the Rabun Aid Project, beginning in 1995. Jack worked for Keenan Auto Parts Company for 47 years in sales and then management first in Thomaston, subsequently in Tallahassee and Cairo. Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 12th, 2015 at 1 pm in Glenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Lee Krivsky officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Ks. 66675, the Fox Fire Museum 98 Foxfire Lane Clayton, Georgia 30525, your church or a charity of your choice in memory of Jack Ellington.
