Mr. Jackie Smith, 82, of Thomaston, died Wednesday, April 8th, 2015 at Upson Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held on Saturday, April 11th, 2015 at 2 pm in the Chapel of the Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. L. R. Brock will officiate and burial with military honors will follow in South View Cemetery. Mr. Smith had lived in Thomaston since childhood a son of the late J. P. Smith, Sr., and Edwina Dickens Smith. He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and served during the Korean War. After he returned to Thomaston he was employed until retirement with the Martha Mills Division of the B. F. Goodrich Company. Mr. Smith was a member of the United Pentecostal Church. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, Myra Smith; his daughter, Gwen (Wade) Fuller and his son, Gary Smith, both of Thomaston; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Eason Smith. The family of Mr. Smith will receive friends at Fletcher-Day Funeral Home on Friday from 6 until 8 pm.
