Mr. James Claude "J.C." Ivie

Mr. James Claude "J. C. " Ivie, age 76, of Woodland, GA, died Friday, April 5, 2024, at his residence. Funeral services for Mr. Ivie will be held Sunday, April 7, at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Fletcher-Day Funeral Home. Rev. Bryan McPherson will officiate, and interment will follow in Crystal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour.

Mr. Ivie was born in Thomaston on August 28. 1947, to the late Lynwood Hoyt Ivie and the late Lillie Mae Darsey Ivie. He was a 1967 graduate of R. E. Lee Institute and attended Gordon College for two years, majoring in business. Through the years, Mr. Ivie owned and operated many local businesses including J's Northside Superstop, J's Village Shop, and J's Outdoors. Most recently, he was the owner/operator of AAA Insulation. Mr. Ivie was a member of Ducks Unlimited, and he was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Ivie is survived by his wife, Carmen Hunt Sims Ivie of Woodland, GA; four children: Hoyt (Katie) Ivie of Thomaston, Dawn Ivie (Chris) Russell of Thomaston, Christy Sims (Chad) Johnson of Bethel, OH, and William "Billy" (Meda) Sims of Culloden; eight grandchildren: Anna Beth Ivie, Cohen Ivie, Addie Ivie, Christian Russell, Payton Rollyson, Hampton Sims, Weston "Rocky" (Julienn) Sims, and Madison Sims; and two great grandchildren: Hady-Hicks Bradley and Emberlynn Sims.
