Mr. James “Jimmy” Corley, age 86, of Thomaston, died Sunday, July 18, 2021, at Heritage Inn Nursing Home in Barnesville. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Corley will be held Tuesday, July 20, at 11:00 AM in South View Cemetery with Rev. Ted Kandler officiating. Mr. Corley was born April 13, 1935, in Upson County to the late Rev. Dock Corley and the late Delma Helms Corley. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He was employed at Thomaston Mills as an Inventory Control Manager where he retired after many years of service in 1999. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Thomaston where he was a deacon and Sunday School director for many years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. Mr. Corley is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Mrs. Bobbie Kendrick Corley; his son, Dr. James Foy (Rita) Corley of Thomaston; and his two grandsons, James (Jamie) Corley and Jacob Corley both of Thomaston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Thomaston Gideons, P.O. Box 1034, Thomaston, GA 30286. Fletcher-Day Funeral Home of Thomaston is in charge of all arrangements.
